Booking our coupon dinner for four people at Little Lamb Hotpot was troublesome because some staff answering the phones couldn’t speak English. We confirmed our booking and headed for all-you-can-eat “crazy wings” on Saturday night.
Most patrons in the restaurant were enjoying the all-you-can-eat hotpot or Korean BBQ that the place is best known for. We stuck to our discount meal and filled out an order form for chicken wings. Obviously, we ordered some of every flavour, including the so-called “Crazy Wings” which the waitress warned us were very spicy. Pfffft surely not?
Chicken wings (usually $2 or $2.50 for a set of two wings)
All the chicken wings had a weird greasy taste that we were burping up hours later. The different flavours were not easily distinguished, but we all enjoyed the honey spicy wings. Pepper wings had a very strange taste and the garlic wings arrived slathered with raw garlic, so we didn’t order those again.
To our great surprise (and some horror), the Crazy Wings were insanely and terribly spicy. We had to rely on one mate to finish them, but even he needed to peel off the skin first and then drown himself in cans of soy milk. The curiously named Skimmed Wings were also fire-inducing. Never again haha!!
Can of drink ($2.50)
Our deal entitled us to one can of drink each, which usually cost $2.50 each. My brave friend eventually returned to the fridge for more cans so he could soothe his burning tongue. What a hero! We also stopped at Meet Fresh after dinner for some icy dessert.
During the dinner rush, the air inside of the restaurant is heavy with smoke from BBQ meats and steam from hotpots. Little Lamb Hotpot is open late and conveniently located in Northbridge, but nothing seems to set it apart from other Korean BBQ joints. We wouldn’t return for the wings, but we might consider the regular all-you-can-eat BBQ meal if we find ourselves in the area.
Likes: all-you-can-eat deals
Dislikes: weird greasy taste on all the wings
Value for money: difficult to judge because of discount coupon
Overall: not great for wings, could be worth a shot for hotpot and BBQ
