A series of silly mistakes landed me alone in Burger Bistro in Leederville late on a Thursday evening. I needed quick sustenance and couldn’t bring myself to buy a Grill’d burger since I had a freebie from the new Leederville store last week.
I ordered at the counter because it feels weird to order burgers using table service. There’s some unusual flavours and plenty of beef and chicken options to keep people happy. Most tables were empty so my burger arrived within 10 mins.
The Beef Spice Trail ($14)
My Angus beef pattie was meaty but quite lean, so it was too dry for my taste. I enjoyed the unusual mix of Asian flavours from green chilli jam, coriander, and chilli flakes. I slathered sour cream all over the meat (heh) because it was a strange but delicious flavour combo. It’s optional so you can always leave it out of the burger.
Service mostly left me alone to make a mess with my burger, which was great. It would have been nice if the staff offered me free chilled water, but I was only there for like 20 mins so that’s no biggie. Burger Bistro’s burgers cost between $13-17. Overall, Grill’d makes cheaper and juicier burgers so I’ll probably head there next time.
Likes: unusual Asian flavours in my burger
Dislikes: slightly dry beef pattie
Value for money: average
Overall: would probs head down the road to Grill’d
