Dough Pizza makes a stretch of William Street in Northbridge smell like toast and sound like a hipster bar. One of my girlfriends had a birthday, so I booked an early dinner using my last online coupon.
The table was too tiny for more than one pizza, so we borrowed space from the empty table next to us. Luckily we were there early because the place is packed pretty early for dinner!
We ordered one pizza with regular tomato sauce and one with cheesy white sauce. This parma pizza had lovely strips of prosciutto, shaved parmesan, basil, and fresh rocket. Quality ingredients, generous toppings, great flavours!
The pizza bases at Dough are quite thin so I recommend rolling or folding the pizza to eat it. Don’t lose the toppings! Our creamy cheese sauce pizza had a couple of different types of mushrooms, smoked ham, shaved parmesan and provolone (a cow’s milk cheese). This was really heavy and we had difficulty eating more than a couple of slices.
My friend ordered a coffee and thought it was decent, but not amazing. I ordered a bottle of Lemon Thirst Quencher ($4.50) which was exactly the kind of light, refreshing drink to get me through many slices of pizza. Also, the lovely staff offered us free chilled tap water.
Pizzas are prepared fresh and quickly to order, which I appreciate. The food is tasty and well-made, the prices are reasonable, and the servings are large. You can comfortably share a pizza between two or bring a larger group for variety. Alternatively, act like gluttons and accept a takeaway box for your inevitable leftovers (lol).
Likes: fresh ingredients, tasty pizza, lovely staff
Dislikes: slightly soggy pizza base makes it difficult not to lose toppings!
Value for money: reasonable, particularly if you share pizzas with friends
Overall: would return if I was in Northbridge and had pizza cravings
